The latest ASIC miner model will be released by Bitmain
Bitmain, which is by far the largest manufacturer of mining equipment, is preparing to release a new ASIC miner. It will be called Antminer S19XP and will have a capacity of 150 Tx/s.
The Block information portal, referring to the primary sources, and knowing some details, said that the new model of the miner will be based on the latest generation chips (5 nm process technology). The development of these chips belongs to TSMC. The device promises to be more powerful and efficient. Consumption is expected to be 3.1 kW/h with an aggregate hashrate of 150 Tx/s. The miner’s efficiency is estimated at 21.5 J/Tx.
The developer company is presenting Antminer S19XP at the exhibition, which will be held in Dubai this week. Mass production of miners and deliveries will take place from July to September 2022. However, it is known from the same sources that some special customers have already received devices for use from Bitmain.
Colin Wu, who is a well-known journalist in China in the cryptocurrency field, also confirmed the news of the release of a new miner. At the same time, according to him, the device has a power of 3,225 watts.
To date, the most powerful device in the series of ASIC miners that Bitmain produces is the Antminer S19 Pro. This miner model is assembled on chips with a 7 nm process technology, which gives a hashrate of 110 Tx/s. Interestingly, with such data, the energy consumption is similar to the indicators of the new miner – about 3.1 kW / h. We can only conclude that the efficiency of the new device model will be 35% higher.
It is known that there is a shortage of semiconductor wafers all over the world, which are needed for the manufacture of chips. In connection with this fact, many companies in America notify that there are serious delays in the supply of equipment.
