NFT testing is conducted by Twitter for account images
The NFT function is being tested by the social network Twitter, which is designed for images of user profiles. While this feature is available for owners of “apples”.
The company told about the testing on the Twitter account Blue. In order for the new features to become available, the user needs to subscribe, which costs $2.99. By connecting a compatible wallet, the user will have access to a collector’s token, which he will use for his profile image.
To enable this feature, support for wallets such as Rainbow, Coinbase Wallet, Ledger Live, Trust, MetaMask and Argent is available. To make the image with NFT different from the usual round avatars, it will be in a hexagon.
According to the developers, after installing the NFT image, the user will receive an association of his Twitter account and the connected cryptocurrency address. This means that the account will be able to interact with currently available or earlier transactions with cryptocurrency and assets, which include other NFTs in the wallet. Access to data in public blockchains is open to everyone.
There is no goal in Twitter’s intentions to gain access to the user’s wallet or withdraw his funds. At the same time, as with any other function related to finance, you need to remember about scammers. Fraudulently, they may try to gain access to the user’s assets.
The news regarding NFT images on users’ avatars appeared back in September 2021. In addition, Twitter has a function to support bitcoin payments, which are carried out through the Lightning Network, so that users receive “gratuity”.
