NBMiner 39.0: The Breach in LHR Is Found!
The latest version of NBminer (v. 39.0) comes with a new feature: higher hash rates in cards by Nvidia with LHR (Lite Hash Rate). The feature halves the potential hash rate for the Dagger Hashimoto algorithm. Unfortunately, NBminer does not fully unlock video cards reaching only 70% of their upper limit.
For example, RTX 3080 without LHR reaches about 100Mh/s; with LHR — 50Mh/s. If you use the latest NBminer version, you will see at least 70Mh/s. Note that activating the feature leads to increased power consumption which is likely related to the code that allows to somewhat bypass hardware limitations in GeForce RTX 3000 series cards and increase GPU load.
