Hackers sell wallet with 69370 BTC in account
Surprisingly, even such amazing goods as stolen digital wallets with cryptocurrency can be found on the modern Internet. You just need to open the appropriate trading floors. For example, on the popular hacker site RaidForums, an announcement appeared that said the sale of a wallet with a balance of 69,370 BTC. Recall that at the current exchange rate at the time of this writing, this amount was more than $ 690 million. What is the reason for the sale, what is known about the wallet and how not to become another victim of scammers? Let’s figure it out.
Basic information
Note that this wallet was discovered on sale by a well-known figure in the cryptoindustry. Alon Gal, Lead Technology Development Officer at Hudson Rock, tweeted a post detailing the sale. It is not known for certain whether the hackers are really implementing the stolen wallet, or if we are facing the usual fraudulent offer. However, the wallet number is clearly indicated in the sale announcement, so anyone can check its contents. We did just that. There are indeed at least 69,370 Bitcoins on the account.
This is a huge amount. So this wallet is the 7th largest savings in the world. A fairly serious storage facility fell into the hands of scammers several years ago. However, the hack has not yet taken place. Most likely, hackers who obtained the files cannot decrypt the information and open the storage. Presumably the reason is the use of the AES-256-CBC and SHA-512 algorithm. Which are extremely reliable and almost indestructible.

How to protect your wallet?
Earlier, we wrote about an experiment that confirmed that a minimal set of information is enough to hack a digital wallet. For experienced hackers, a small part of the secret passphrase is enough. That is why we remind you of the importance of carefully keeping all information secret. Do not publish confidential information, it is better not to store passwords and seed-phrase on the computer at all. You should write out the indicated sequences on a sheet of paper and, say, put them in a safe, from where secret information will definitely not be stolen.
Also, security rules apply to working with e-mail boxes. Create separate boxes for separate accounts on exchanges or online wallets. Such a distribution will minimize losses in the event of a hacking of a specific account. There is no need to remind about the importance of complex passwords, this is an obvious rule, probably known to all our readers.
