This Friday Only 3 Million BTC Left. What Will be Next?
It is expected that this Friday only 3 million BTC will be left, as far they will mine 18 millionth BTC according to Anthony Pompliano’s tweet, having appeared a couple of days ago. He is a co-founder of investment firm Morgan Creek Digital Assets, so his words should be considered as a relevant source.

3 million BTC left. So soon!
He has also pointed out that mining out this 18 millionth BTC means that there are just 3 million left. Pompliano also suggested to create a corresponding hashtag to help the world to know more about BTC. He expressed hope that the awareness around it will rise. In time, surely.
On CNBC’s Squawk Box Pompliano pointed out that near the half of his net worth is not in fiat currency but in BTC. So the suggestion like that is not surprising. He is hinting that people has been mined somewhere around 17,997,150 BTC already. This data was provided by well-known source BitcoinBlockHalf. So as far the upper limit is 21 million, it is not difficult to calculate how much can be mined – only around 3 million BTC left.
Decrease of Bitcoin’s block rewards is coming
The amount of coins decreases, soBTC’s halving approach is just a matter of time. As a result, the amount of BTC created will be cut in half in each new block.
So approximately in late spring 2020 the block reward will be reduced in half from 12.5 to 6.25. The source also provides the information that more than 85% of all BTC is mined and only around 3 million BTC left to be mined in future. So this info comes from a variety of relevant sources and should be considered the valid one. Another increasing thing is competition around the BTC obtaining. The best illustration is the hash rate, reaching the record 102 quintillion hashes.
